TravelGolf.com This Week's Buzz

Doug Carey This Week at TravelGolf.com: May 18, 2004

After contributing writer Shane Sharp told us he was headed to New Orleans for a week of golf, we weren't sure how many morning tee times he'd miss. Surprisingly enough, Sharp managed to make his way through the Big Easy without oversleeping a single day.

Of course, when you look at the courses he played, it's easy to see where he got the motivation to answer that wake-up call each morning. In this week's Travel Golf Guy column, Sharp recaps his week on the Audubon Golf Trail, a collection of nine dogged golf outposts that span the entirety of the Bayou State. With two new courses, the AGT is well worth a visit. Just be sure to make time for golf (the AGT is spread throughout the state) and great food along the way.

While Sharp was on the road, our public relations department was busy last week announcing several key deals, including new partnerships with Hotels.com and WorldRes, plus the acquisition of WisconsinGolf.com. While we continue to grow, be sure to check out our usual full lineup of reviews and travel features. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Have a great week.

According to staff writer Chris Wallace, No. 2 isn't even one of the 10 best golf courses in North Carolina, and it may only be the fourth-most attractive member of its own family.

Pebble Beach Golf Links There's nothing
like Pebble Beach

There's nowhere in the world that offers the stunning oceanfront scenes on a golf course that Pebble Beach Golf Links offers. But many courses have tried to copy the original, and some like Bay Harbor Golf Club have come close. But at the end of the day, there's really no substitute for the one and only Pebble Beach.
