This Week at TravelGolf.com: Jan. 25, 2004 Trying to avoid weather stories the last few days became like trying to walk past one of those cellphone kiosks in the middle of the mall without an obnoxious salesman attempting to stalk you. Futile. Every time you turned on the TV, there was a weather reporter bundled up in a two-sizes-too-big parka, praying the snow would keep falling so he could look cool on TV. The meteorological sensation even swept through the sports world, with snowfall counts and wind chill factors replacing touchdown totals and quarterback ratings in the NFC and AFC Championship Games build up. While a few of you may have adopted the philosophy of staff blogger Dave Berner about putting golf on hold, I'm betting many more are seriously three iron jonesing. With that in mind, TravelGolf has reporters working on stories in locations like South Africa and Arizona. Spots where parkas are definitely not required. And if you do need your football fix with your par 5s, we also examine last-minute Las Vegas Super Bowl golf trips. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Here's wishing you a parka-free week.

According to Christopher Parcell, National Director of Sales for Golf Zoo and TravelGolf America, "We wanted to create an environment where our clients would actually enjoy hanging out at the place they were staying rather than simply having a place to crash. Both "The Hideout" and "The Estate" are very nice private homes, but it's all the extra goodies we outfitted both properties with that make it truly unforgettable."

The Ovation is ultra-sharp-looking, with its charcoal clubhead, green shaft and matching clubhead cover. Its classy look and traditional shallow-faced set-up inspire confidence as well. That said, our small sampling of players failed to find the Ovation any easier to get into the air than other 3-woods, but off the tee it was considerably longer than expected.
