Cell Phones On Flights December 22, 2004, 4:21 am

by John Frawley
Hey, as long as the flight attendant can show me a window that I can open so I can throw out the cell phone belonging to the obnoxious twit behind me who keeps gabbing and gabbing for hundreds of air miles, I might be OK with the idea. Maybe flushing it down the toilet would be safer.

I believe the last thing we need in a cramped airplane is someones annoying belief that they have some sort of intitlement to do whatever they choose without regard to others. This is happening all too frequently throughout society now as well as on golf courses. We don't need more agitation on flights. I see air rage becoming the norm.

FLYING CELL PHONES December 21, 2004, 6:44 pm

by FRED SELTMAN
CELL PHONES IN AN AIRPLANE IS CLEARLY AN "INVASION" OF PRIVACY. IF THESE FOLKES ARE SO IMPORTANT THAT THEY CANNOT BE OFF THE PHONE FOR A FEW HOURS THEN THEY SHOULD STAY HOME OR IN THE OFFICE. COME TO THINK OF IT---SOMEONE THAT IMPORTANT SHOULD HAVE AN ASSISTANT TO ANSWER THEIR CALLS.

Cell phone use December 21, 2004, 10:41 am

Couldn't agree more on the cell phone observation. Civility and courtesy are fast diminishing characteristics in our society. Translated to cell phone use on the airplanes means there will always be enough "jackasses" around who could care less and that will ruin the flight. Good news though for the Bose people who will sell more of those sound dampening headphones.
