| Skins game... |

The skins game, as with all broadcast golf, is really made interesting by those that cover it. Historically, TW can be 8 shots off and in trouble and the coverage goes to him while the little known leader knocks it stiff. And, I must also point out that without anything to reference it to, watching the ball flight against the clouds is a total waste of air time. Perhaps what needs overhauling in addition to the format is the coverage???

Yor are right the rich get richer, what they need is take the four people that are picked to play in the skins game, and let them coach four people whose names are picked at random prior to the contest. this could be organized. Here's the good part, the duffers play for the same money. and the same format. Wow I would watch that. can you picture a guy making 40 grand a year that is not a pro putting a 10 footer with a left to right break? tha t would be funny.
thanks

How about 2, 3 or 4 amatuers playing a scramble against Tiger for $1 Million in prize money. The Am team will play a scramble format against Tiger for each skin. All of Tiger's money goes to charity and the am's get a chance to get rich.

you are correct, i would love the skin games if it the matches were real. come on guys out up the money or shut up
can you imagine the seriousness of the game if they were putting for 300,000 of their own money. Now that would be a real golf game golf- as for the skins now- not interested!! and the Ryder cup- who in their right mind would team woods and Phil- they don't get along --so what would make you think that they could compete for the U.S. without having their egos get in the way. HMMMM
bye and thanks for letting me get my thoughts to you

Want to make the game interesting, GIVE the ladies a fighting chance! Pound for Pound, Testerone ounce for ounce in the system, the ladies hit the ball farther and with more skill not masked by brute strength. Technology is here that can create a ball just for the battle of the sexes. Give ole Tiger a ball that allows him only 5 percent more distance than Annika and she will hand him his head on a platter at the end of the game! and I for one will tune in for every lovely humilating moment!

BORING...a major overhaul is needed. Golf had better wake up to the fact that "Tiger" doesn't guarantee a ratings bonanza. I didn't bother watching any of this year's coverage. Charity or not my weekends are too valuable to sit and watch another BORING made for TV golf game. Make mine tournament golf.

Remembering the first Skins Game and the excitement to see the huge dollars was very entertaining. The novelity has long worn off.We need to see a different format. Say a preferred shot with a clebrity twosome angainst another twosome and the money going to charity.

What makes these shows more fun is the bantering which you do not usually get in a regular tournament where they have to suck a lemon in order to obtain the proper facial expression.

The skins game would be of some interest if the participants put up their own money. Otherwise it's a joke.

YES!!! I agree. When we weekenders play for skins we have a definite chance of losing money -- not just winning it. Let these people do the same. That's real skins

Skins shmins!
I think its a joke to have Annika Sorenstam tee off the same tees that the guys have to tee off from. Not only is she outclassed, but out driven, outchipped, outputted, and frankly she doesnt bring that many ratings! People know that she can't beat guys like Woods and Scott. Even a 45 year old like couple way outplays her. Booorinngggg!

I agree with you, Doug; except I put "reality" shows on the same list of must misses. I didn't see any of the Skins Game; and didn't miss any of it. There's plenty of real golf on television; we don't need to clog-up the airwaves with this nonsense. Make it a tournament for a bunch of amateurs nobody ever heard of. Let them qualify for it like the U.S. Open. Then you'd have real "reality" television.

Most comments I read. I see you are missing the point. Most amatures that I know who have played the skins for few bucks a hole know the true feeling of what it feels like to win. That's where the excitement comes in when watching the wins for the big bucks. As far as Tiger goes, if you watched the skins over the weekend you would have heard tiger saying that all his skin wins were going to charity. I can't wait to next year to watch it again!!

The skins format is fine, its the "sticks-in-the-mud" they need to get rid of. Find four people who can rib each other for 18 holes and provide a little entertainment. All you ever heard all weekend was, "nice putt", "ah geez, I thought it should have broke more". Next year they should add Paul Casey and Tom Lehman to the mix, just to stir it up a little bit.
