Hey, John. Tim McDonald's the one with the Nicklaus parking lot beef. I have no problem with Nicklaus. His retiring from coaching talk is just about as real as his retiring as a player talk was 5 years ago, so he played his team for fools.
That's good coaching. Just not very genuine.

Chris, Chris, Chris!!!
Man, get over yourself. Just the fact that Mr. Nicklaus (the greatest golfer the game has had...so far) was absolutely fantastic at managing the toughest course set-ups in winning 18 professional majors. Managing twelve of the toughest golfers in the world was a piece of cake...again, Capt. Jack managed masterfully!!! Chris, enjoy it or shut up!!!

Have you ever tried reporting on something that isn't a fabrication of your fevered, little, Jack hating, mind?
I forgot why I stopped reading your reviews. Thanks for jogging my memory.
If it weren't for people like Nicklaus, Palmer, Snead and Sarrazin golf might as well never have existed for all the attention it would have received.
If you can't bestow upon this man the honour he rightly deserves then for goodness sake just stay quiet. Where's your objectivity man?
There, I feel better now. :)

To say Jack Nicklaus is doing the Presidents cup and everything else he's doing just to stay in the limelight is pure crap. Period dot. Jack Nicklaus is a credit to the game of golf, to sportsmanship, and is exactly what every professional athlete in ANY sport should want to emulate and have as a role model.
So what if he used some craftiness to fire up his team. Thats what good coaches and leaders do. Question.. did you see any of the players showing any disrespect to the Euro team like in past Ryder Cups? No... Jack wouldn't allow it and made sure that all the team members knew that. That's also what good coaches and leaders do. Define their goals and expectations to their team members early and re emphasize them often.
Did Jack make the headlines for leading this team...yes...should he have...yes. Was the Presidents cup a success..YES for both sides...it was a great event for golf and THAT is what this article should have been about. Not some idiot taking potshots at Jack, Tiger, and DiMarco to stroke his ego and get HIS name in the spotlight.
Respectfully,
RFleming

If memory serves, Balwin's hate for Jack stems from an incident he witnessed in a parking lot where he saw Jack mecilessly berate his caddy. For Baldwin that single moment defined the man. This is what happens when you find out your heros turn out to be ordinary human beings like the rest of us. Here's a tissue Chris, now get over it.

Exactly RFleming. Baldwin you idiocy and buffoonery amaze me once again!!! Instead of just stating the facts, you once again distort a good thing.. So what if Jack wants to keep on being the "coach"...he deserves it and obviously he gets and demands the respect of the players. They need someone like him to put them past their childish "me first" behavior to focus on one thing...WINNING for the TEAM... The American players needed pick-me-up from Jack and they got it. So for a change, why don't you give credit where credit is due. (oh yeah, Jack did post a par round in his last event and was two strokes from playing on Sunday.)

Obviously "ALL" of the "American Players" were fired up as you can see with the score..even the "International Players Team"...there does that help you with the American players statement?? It was just a metaphor... :-)
