The items about Scottish golf are very useful but your members/readers etc might find the following site very useful if they are visiting Scotland and want to play some fine courses for not a lot of money. A web site called www.weeyellowbook.co.uk list all the affiliated courses in Scotland and gives deatils of their Open Competitions, Senior Competitions, Mixed Competitions etc, if the dates of these Comps coincide with your holiday then it makes sense to consider entering and playing, plus you always have the chance of winning ( my wife and I did this last year at The Glen, North Berwick, a beautifull Course we played for the princly sum of £22.00 ( about $45 ) for the pair of us instead of about $100 each. ) and we met some great people and were made to feel very welcome. It is imperative you have a bona fide handicap certificate with you. Good luck and give it a try.
Cheers Fran Muldoon
PS We are English and enjoy golf in the USA very much and are looking forward to our trip to South East Florida and Hilton Head Island in Feb/Mar 2008.
