Chris my man!! You go girl, the more you rant, the more you rave, the more almost all of us readers feel more and more superior to you. Keep up the good work. We all need a regular boost to our self worth and you certainly are good at making us feel better...Dennis

Somehow, I started getting your emails. I am not sure if you like much about golf. You seem to denigrate nearly everyone. Is it for "shock" value, thinking it will get people to read if it's controversial? I don't want to read a column that just rips people. The guy just went out and won a tournament- that is all it was. And I think they all had to play the same course, right?
I don't see your point.

I agree 100%. If these guys could still compete they would be on the tour. I play every week with young guys. Sometimes I win and sometimes I dont, But I'm not gonna start my own group just to be considered a winner again.

Chris, You are a young IDIOT..!! I don't know Allen Doyle but he must be a hell of a golfer to shoot a "63". The fact that he "worked" for a living as a practice range operator or any other honest endeavor and couldn't become a pro until age 47 is to his credit..! Shame on you for disparaging him and other seniors. GROW UP..!

Chris,
I disagree with your comparison of NCR's greens to Pamela Anderson's bosom. Pamela's bosom is much firmer :)
In fact, they are probably closer the USGA specs than NCR was!

What's the champion's tour? I used to watch the Senior tour but it dissapeared a few years back. Then again this author continues to confuse the commercial tours with USGA events.

Chris,
You are sadly mistaken if you think the Champions Tour players can't play! If you think they are pathetic you really don't know what you are talking about!
Have you ever seen one of their events? I would like to see you play the NCR CC during that event-I am not sure what kind of player you are, but if you are a 5 hdcp, I would be you even money you could not break 90!!
If you think their Tour is pathetic then why are a number of thir players competivive on the PGA TOUR??

I was very pleased to be a volunteer at this event which was one of the best attended tournaments this year, with an attendance of around 100,000 people. The greens on Thursday and Friday were slower than the USGA wanted because of a very lot of rain on Wednesday. Thr USGA worked very hard to try and get the greens to 11.5 and were close to that speed on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. You oviously were not there to see that the pin placements were dificult and the greens not "forgiving". The course was in excellent condition and the rough and bunkers were extremely dificult.
The people that I observed attending this tournament were very pleased with the competition and even though "Arnie" had two rounds in the 80's he had a large, very appreciative following. It also might be interesting to note that even though Doyle had a 63 on Sunday, the winning # was only 10 under and that was way below the winning # at the Buick Open, which if it had been held at NCR I'd bet it would not have been that low. Average driving distace was about 280 -290 yards, so these guys can still hit it. Loren Roberts (just turned 50) was 9 under and Greg Norman (just turned 50) was not even close. Stop overreacting and give the Champions Tour a break. A great bunch of competive guys who still can play.
