Whistler Golf May 24, 2005, 1:37 pm

by Chris
Not only do they have this new juniors play for free (I use it all the time at Furry Creek Golf Course) but they also have a great Sea to Sky Junior Golf Tournament. The kids play 6 premium golf courses (Whistler, Chateau Whistler, Nickalaus North, Big Sky ...) for $200 canadian (about 175 us). They get a hot dog and pop on the course, lunch afterwards and door prizes every time. My son loved it.
I used to think there was nothing better than walking down the fairway with my son until I walked down the fairway with my son and 11 year old daughter. Spending 4 hours on the course with your kids really adds to the game of golf.

Just a note to say that at CINNAMON HILL Ocean Course in Montego Bay Jamaica we also do not charge juniors 16 and under when playing with an adult. We've found this keeps a lot of parents happy and they get to enjoy our great course.

Golf on Vancouver Island, BC May 24, 2005, 12:24 pm

by Haydee Oord
"Every now and then, you need to find something that restores your faith in the golf business. Something that makes you realize that not all courses are out there to shake the golfer for every dollar they're worth and then shake some more. Something that signals that at least a few movers and shakers in golf recognize there needs to be much more emphasis on growing the game".
Chris, you took the words right out of my mounth. Vancouver Island is an even better place and has yet to be discovered by many. With 6 World Class Golf courses - * Victoria will be the first city to have 2 high end Nicklaus designed courses on either side* - and about 50 first class courses, the Island has great year round golfing that will tease everyone's handicap. With companies such as Paradise Golf Tours, "the movers and shakers of the Island", the Island golf courses will be explored and played.
This should restore everyone's faith in the golf business. Haydee
