Hey Wolfrum, since when is holed 116 yard wedge shot, a "chip in"? Have you ever actually played this game?

"Nothing against Mickelson's 28-under obliteration of the BellSouth field. Lefty was out of his mind, but it wasn't in a very important event."
Were you serious? If Tiger had shot 28 under in the Bell South you media guys wouldn't stop talking about it.
How did you get this job?

I guess Rush was right, wasn't he?
Michelle Wie has a a great future on the LPGA (and PGA??), but the hype is way ahead of her accomplishments.
As Oakland Raider's owner Al Davis once said, "Just win, baby!!"

The point is really that Michelle Wie is 16 and was tied for the lead in a major coming down the stretch. Her first Major as a pro by the way. She also hit a mid-iron into the 18th green, a par 5. That is the story. Although Webb's shot on 18 was spectacular, a wily veteran getting lucky in the end isn't quite the same story as a young phenom proving herself. Hey, Michelle is going to continue to do great and interesting things. She is Michael Jordan. She should be the headline. Webb, Gulbis, Ochoa, etc... will all shine only occasionally. And please... Webb is Annika's heir??? Have you seen Wie's swing?

Thank you so much, Bruce. Finally, someone else recognizes the concept that we're dealing with here. Michelle is only SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!!! She has accomplished far more in her appearances on the LPGA at ages 15 and 16 than any female in history. The way most of the respondents here comment on her, makes me very happy they are not her parent(s)or her coach. Instead of a "village raising a child", these villagers pride themselves in trying to kill a child's spirit and dreams.

| Chip In |

Exactly my thoughts, a 116-yard shot is not a chip. She holed out from 116 with a pitching wedge. Imagine if people at the local muni hit shots that far into the chipping green.

You call a full 9-rion shot from 116 yards a chip-in? Suggest you get people who are actually familiar with the game to author your articles.

It's actually quite difficult to continue reading the article after such a gaff by the writer.
Someone should send him a definition book on what constitutes a chip-in and a pitch shot.
Maybe these guys only need to have a skewed view of the world in order to publish anything.
