Woods July 11, 2006, 10:54 pm

by John
Is anybody as sick and tired of hearing only about tiger woods even when someone else is leading a tournament or when they win. I have never seen such a poor sport receive so much attention. Granted he is good, but so are all the other golfers out there. The TV announcers are sickening as to how "poor" Woods got a bad break. Everyone else just made a poor shot or used the wrong club.
I always root for him to "get it close", even on two foot putts.
Talking to others, I am not the only one who feels this way.

Many share your views, but remember Americans have few models to promote, but when it is a citizen, commentators do their best to do that, evidenced Watson and Wie, who came close but emulate what that country wants to see. Ever listen when a foreign golfer gets good or wins and where they make their home. Adoption is good for the winning side. Dont get sick and tired, just accept where it's all coming from.

YOU MADE ME SOOO HAPPY. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE OUT HERE THAT IS FED UP, SICK AND TIRED AND BORED WITH THE WOODS THING AND THE MEDIA. HE SHOULD STAY ON HIS ISLAND AND HIS BOAT---I LOVE TO WATCH GOLF WHEN HE "IS NOT" PLAYING.

I totally agree....I am sick of it and now record most golf tournaments where Woods is a particpant...then I play the tape back and what a surprise, the 4 hour recorded event is a mere 1.5 hours when the Woods coverage is skipped...
The exact same thing is now happening with Wie...another media blittz, that I can fast forward equally as easy which reduces the time to watch an event to a third...

The Michelle Way July 11, 2006, 9:02 pm

Michelle's "phenom" status is just a marketing success, nothing more. Her continuing attempts to make the cut in men's tournament is just good publicity. I think it is also her way to try to make her mark - if she is lucky and makes the cut just once, who cares about all her failures in women's tournaments? It's everything to gain and nothing to lose! But it also shows clearly her lack of confidence in succeeding on the women's tour. She should just focus on the women's tour with more determination!! Enough of the Michelle Way.
