Thanks for your story on Biloxi. They can use all the help they can get. Please don't forget about Alabama. Gulf Shores took a direct hit from Ivan 2 years ago and rebuilding is pretty much complete. Many people forgot about the damage caused by Ivan after Katrina hit a year later. Although the area east of Mobile Bay had much less physical damage from Katrina than areas to the west, it did suffer additional financial damage since so many people still think that the whole gulf coast is devastated. There are fantastic deals on Condo's in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area, many offer some pretty nice golf packages, and the many area courses are open and looking for business.

We were thinking about taking our annual golf trip in Biloxi in March, 07. But we have some concerns. When trying to get some quotes I found one Gulf Port packager out of business; another wouldn't answer their phone; a third told me the area was not ready for tourists, and a travel agent in the area said the same thing.
One company said the area was fine for a golf trip. I would like a "really honest opinion." Should I take a chance arranging a trip for 12 people in Biloxi or will I look like a fool?

Mr. Ficara-- I booked with gulfcoastgolftours.com and had a great time. Recommended! I didn't do well in the casinos .... but at Fallen Oak, I broke 80 for the first time ever!
