Chris might be a heck of a guy--- but, he sounds more like a pain than a sport.

Sports always have been the toy store of life. If a game gave someone a few hours of relief from the hell they are going through then it is worth it. When my Mom was dying several years ago we watched her beloved Nebraska football team play a game on TV and for a few hours the pain she had was not as great - we could talk about the game and not the nursing home and her hurts. It gave here some respite from the hell she was going through and helped me remember the happier times we had spent together. I watched MNF last night with a hurricane sitting off our SC coast and for a few hours did not worry about it. It didn't go away and it is still there but I got to spend a few hours in the toy store.

That says it all. The article should be passed on to all relivant sports media organizations. Maybe more reporters would start saying the truth instead of over dramatizing it all.

I don't often agree with Chris; but on this one I couldn't agree more. If I went through what the people in the Gulf are are going through, the NFL and the Saints wouldn't make my top 1,000 list of concerns. And I'm sure those who are going through this and heard the Saints had won, shrugged their shoulders and said "So, What? Find a quarter and call someone who gives a ----."

Can't agree with Baldwin more. You want to heal victims? Give them money, medicine, shelter, clothing, and the necessities of life. Give them their relatives back. Don't give them inspiration from wealthy, safe athletes. Don't get me wrong in thinking that I don't love wealthy, safe athletes. This isn't the time nor the place, nor the medium. Give me guardswomen and men, firefighters, police officers, red cross workers, and other agents of miracles who get into the dirty water and mud, who bury the dead, who clean the streets, and carry the supplies. That's where the inspiration glows bright.
